Course description:
Course examines the current trends in area of manufacturing process documentation and an overview of new technology that can create a positive impact on the process. Learn to create interactive and animated work instructions that can save your company time, money and improve overall quality. Includes review of new methodologies for leveraging engineering 3D graphics directly for print applications as well as for intranet / internet applications, 3D interactive content and interactive exploded views with linked BOM's. Hands on lab work will utilize the latest 3D documentation software technology, 3DVIA Composer.
Prerequisites:
Participants should be familiar with industry standard technical publication software and applying it in an engineering / manufacturing technical writing and process documentation environment. (i.e. assembly instructions, corporate training materials, service procedures etc.)

ii. Graphics design and publication using 3D.
iii. Leveraging your existing documentation in the new paradigm.
iv. Updating existing publications after engineering changes
v. Classic printed output vs. interactive media.
V. New media types being used in Industry.
i. Intranet / Internet
ii. 3D interactive content for the shop floor or the field.
iii. Interactive exploded views with linked BOM's (Bill of Materials).
