Course examines the newest trends in area of creating dynamic sales and marketing materials for the manufacturing industry. New methods now allow non-engineering users to easily interface directly with your company's existing engineering CAD models to create interactive web material as well as exciting animations and graphics for your presentations. Learn to repurpose engineering files without recreating them to render, modify, animate and change images to meet your specific needs. If you've ever wished you could utilize your company's engineering files directly without having to bug an engineer or even open a seat of CAD to do it, this class is for you! If you're an engineer tasked with creating material for sales and marketing, we'll show you do it faster and easier so you can get back to what you like to do best...engineering! Hands on lab work will utilize the latest 3D documentation software technology, 3DVIA Composer.
Prerequisites:
Participants should be familiar with MS Windows environment and have a general knowledge of MS Office programs including PowerPoint. Some computer graphics experience beneficial but not required.

i. Leveraging engineering 3D data directly without engineering intervention.
ii. Keeping publication in sync with engineering changes.
III. Discussion of process changes affected by new technology.
IV. Document Creation Fundamentals.
i. Open access to 3D Engineering content.
ii. Graphics design and publication using 3D.
iii. Interfacing with your current presentation methods (MS PowerPoint)
iv. Updating existing publications after engineering changes
v. Exploring different options for linking to other media types.
V. New media types being used in Industry.
i. Interactive content
ii. Publishing to the WEB.
iii. Interactive exploded views with linked BOM's (Bill of Materials).
